Light Up Their Christmas

Tired of buying your kids presents, only to turn around and give them away to make room for something else next year? This Christmas, give your kids an experience they won’t forget, and a lesson that will give them life-long savings habits. From now until December 31, 2019, when you open a savings account for your child you will also receive 2 tickets to Moody Garden’s Festival of Lights.

You can open your child’s account online or by visiting any of our locations. We have a few different options when it comes to opening your child’s account, so check them out below:

Sandy Savers (ages 0-12)

The Sandy Savers Kids Club offers our younger members a wonderful opportunity to get involved in credit union events, as well as earn prizes for saving money. When they open their account they will receive a savings stamp card. For every $10 deposit, they will get a stamp on their card. Once they have earned 5 stamps, they get to pick a prize from the treasure chest.

Student Checking (ages 13-17)

Our Student Checking account is just for members ages 13-17 years old. It gives your child the chance to gain the financial independence they’ve been looking for, without risking a dime. With their own checking account and debit card, they can begin learning how to save and spend responsibly. A parent or guardian must be listed as a joint owner, so you can monitor their account through online banking.

College Saver CD (ages 0-17)

Featuring a minimum deposit of only $250, this certificate is an ideal way for kids to start saving money. It is much like a Term Share Account, but with unlimited deposits in amounts of $50 or more. A College Saver Certificate can be opened for any member age 17 and under. To open a College Saver CD, click here.

Disclosure: Every new GCEFCU membership that is opened November 25 – December 31, 2019 for a member 17 years old or younger will receive two (2) free tickets to Moody Garden’s Festival of Lights for the 2019 season. This offer is limited to the first 50 new memberships opened, while supplies last. Once the account is open and funded, GCEFCU will mail the two tickets to the home address listed on the member’s account.
