A welcome kit will be delivered to your address that will have your new account number, routing number, information on how to access your funds and set up online banking, and any loan payment information you may need. Your Sweeny Teachers FCU account will transfer to Gulf Coast Educators FCU at the end of business on June 30, 2023.
Setting up Online Banking
Once you receive your new account number in the mail, you can set up online banking and download GCEFCU’s mobile app. Here you can easily view your account balance, transfer funds, pay your bills, make loan payments, and more. Text “Apple” or “Android” to 281-843-8611 to have the mobile app download link sent straight to your phone.

In person at any of our locations. After hours, you can use our night drop which will be processed next business morning.

RDC – Remote Deposits via the mobile app for checks.
Transfers in Online Banking – You can add external accounts from another credit union or bank into your GCEFCU online banking account. Once you have them added, you can transfer to and from those accounts, all within one platform. There is no charge for this service with the deposits taking up to 5 business days to post.
Wire Transfer – Wire transfers can be received same day depending on the timing. There is no fee from the credit union to receive a wire transfer.
From Your Phone – Apple/Android/Samsung Pay can be used by adding your debit card to your passbook on your mobile phone. From there, you may make purchases with your debit card, without ever having to take your wallet out.
Zelle – Located conveniently in your GCEFCU app, Zelle® enables you to send and receive money with friends and family, no matter where they bank. Click here to learn more.
Fee-Free ATMs
You can use your GCEFCU VISA Debit Card at any ATM in the Allpoint Nationwide Network. Find an Allpoint “No-Surcharge” ATM near you by clicking here.

Shared Branching
Shared branches allow our members to conduct certain types of transactions at participating credit union locations throughout the US. With over 5,000 locations, you’re never far from your credit union accounts. There are limits to the types of transactions you can do at a shared branch, so please call ahead to confirm. All loans with Sweeny Teachers FCU will be transferred on June 30, 2023, and future payments will be made to GCEFCU beginning July 1, 2023. If your monthly payment is made via payroll deduction with Sweeny ISD, your payments will be automatically transferred over. If you pay your loan directly to the credit union, you will need to set up a new payment method. Please ensure that you set up and log in to your GCEFCU online banking account before the conversion date to set up a payment method.

From Another Financial Institution
You can transfer money to your accounts at other credit unions or banks by adding them as an external account. Simply log into online banking from your desktop computer and go to the SETTINGS section. Select the ACCOUNTS tab and click LINK AN EXTERNAL ACCOUNT. Once you have completed all of the steps, you can make transfers to and from your external account within the TRANSFERS section of online banking. There is no charge for this service with the payments taking up to 5 business days to post.

Direct Deposit & Payroll Deduction
Direct Deposit & Payroll Deduction
If you have direct deposit or payroll deduction set up to your Sweeny Teachers FCU account or loan(s), those will automatically transfer over to your new GCEFCU account.
Any automatic payments you have set up to and from your existing account will need to be updated to your new GCEFCU account number, which you will receive in the mail. GCEFCU’s routing number is 313087286.
