Gulf Coast Educators FCU + Sweeny Teachers FCU

Gulf Coast Educators Federal Credit Union is thrilled to announce its successful acquisition of Sweeny Teachers Federal Credit Union (STFCU), effective June 30, 2023. This merger represents a strategic move to strengthen and enhance the financial services available to educators and school employees in the Gulf Coast region.

The merger brings together two credit unions with shared values, complementary strengths, and a collective mission of empowering educators with financial stability and success. By joining forces, we are able to offer an expanded range of products, services, and innovative solutions that will benefit our new members in the Sweeny area.

The merger was successfully completed on June 30, 2023, and all 619 STFCU member accounts were seamlessly transitioned over to GCEFCU. The former Sweeny Teachers FCU branch, located at 400 N Elm Street in Sweeny, Texas now serves as a fully operational GCEFCU branch.
